Boso de Granges

Boso II. De Granges († July 2nd / 13th, 1243 ) was bishop of Sion from 1237 to 1243 .

Life

Boso stems from the Mittelwallis wealthy noble family Granges (degrees Adige). He was canon in Sion in 1208 , cantor from 1221 to 1222 and dean of Valeria between 1222 and 1237 . In 1228 he gave the cathedral chapter its own churches in Grengiols and Mörel , with canon Walter de Chouson appearing as the first witness. Boso was elected Bishop of Sion in 1237 and consecrated in April 1238. In 1242 he bequeathed his castle in Granges to the cafeteria in Sitten .
