Most of Bostelbek consists of the "Am Radeland eV" settlement community. This community of homeowners was established in 1932/33 as an unemployment settlement. The settlement currently consists of a little more than 250 pieces of land. The architecture is monotonous - there are almost exclusively semi-detached houses in the settlement, which, like the bright design of the facade, is due to the building regulations in the settlement community. The planning on the drawing board can also be recognized by the straight roads running at 90 degrees (including Am Radeland, Hoffstraße, Heidebruch, Am Reiherhorst, Falkenweg, Zum Fürstenmoor, Ellernweg).

The settlement is enclosed by large industrial areas on the one hand and Deutsche Bahn AG and on the other side of the tracks of the railway line Harburg-Stade S-Bahn -line S 3. When based Bostelbek industry especially the Daimler -Werk with 2,480 employees. The axles , steering columns and other system elements for almost all models of the Mercedes-Benz brand are manufactured here. Also located in the so-called Technology Park, the former pace -Werk which in 1965 by Hanomag was acquired. With the takeover of Hanomag-Henschel , Daimler-Benz came into possession of the plant in the early 1970s . The location coined the term " Harburger Transporter " due to the vehicles manufactured there . Due to the surrounding industry and the tracks, it is not possible for the settlement to expand.

The regular cultural events of Bostelbek include the Easter bonfire, the street festival (which is held annually in a different street) and the lantern parade. However, there are also always children's flea markets, anniversaries for the existence of the community or other festivities.

In addition, there is a sports facility with swimming pool, fitness studio and tennis courts of TuS Harburg, the clubhouse of the Bostelbeker Sportverein (BSV) and a community hall (so-called Kingdom Hall) of Jehovah's Witnesses .

In terms of transport, Bostelbek is directly connected to Harburg by the HVV bus line 241 . Bostelbek can also be reached via line 141 through the pedestrian underpass. Until the construction of the Hamburg S-Bahn to Neugraben , the Unterelbebahn had the “Tempo-Werk” stop here. Figure 1 shows the waterworks, which can be found on the other side of the tracks. The stop for line 141 is right next to it.
