Boston is a census-designated place in Nelson County , Kentucky with a population of 272.
The settlement arose in the early 19th century on Lick Creek in Kentucky at what is now called "Old Boston". In the 19th century, a breakpoint for the Lebanon branch of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad was established in the parish , where special trains from the Kentucky Railway Museum occasionally stop today . Presumably to avoid flooding and to be closer to the railway station, the settlement moved a bit to the west in the middle of the 19th century.
The Booker Noe Distillery has been located in Boston since 1954 , the larger of the two whiskey distilleries in which Jim Beam whiskey is produced. The Boston School ranges from kindergarten through eighth grade. In 2014 they attend 296 students.
