Bouabdellah Tahri (born December 20, 1978 in Metz ) is a French athlete . He mainly starts over the 3000 meter obstacle , rarely also in the 3000 meter and 5000 meter run .

The European junior champion of 1997 over 5000 m took tenth place in the 3000 m obstacle race at the 1999 World Championships in Seville and was eliminated in the preliminary run at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

At the 2001 World Cup in Edmonton he was fifth and at the 2002 European Championships in Munich and the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis fourth.

This was followed by a seventh place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and an eighth place at the 2005 World Cup in Helsinki, before he finally finished third at the 2006 European Championship in Gothenburg on the podium of a major international championship. In 2007 he became vice-European champion in the hall over 3000 m. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he finished fifth.

On July 3, 2009, he set a new European record in the 3,000 meter obstacle course in Metz, France, in 8: 02.19 minutes. He was able to improve this to 8: 01.18 minutes at the season highlight at the World Cup in Berlin and thus win the bronze medal.

The athlete with the nickname "Bob" has a height of 1.90 m and a competition weight of 65 kg.
