Boubacar Boureima (* 1958 in Dargol ) is a Nigerien diplomat .

Life

Boubacar Boureima did a maîtrise en droit in 1984 at the University of Lomé in Togo . The following year he joined the Nigerien Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There he worked in various functions: first as an employee of the directorates for Africa and the Middle East as well as for legal and consular affairs, then as director for legal and consular affairs, as deputy general secretary, as head of protocol ad interim and as head of department for decentralized cooperation. In 1990 he received a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées in diplomacy and management of international organizations from the University of Paris-South .

In 2004, Boureima moved to Niger's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York , where he served as Counselor and from March to September 2005 as Chargé d'affaires. In October 2010 he returned to Niger to take up the post of Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 10 January 2012 Boureima was as Permanent Representative of Niger to the United Nations in New York accredited . He replaced Aboubacar Ibrahim Abani , who had held this office since 2005. Boureima's position as Niger’s permanent representative to the United Nations ended in 2015. He was succeeded by Abdallah Wafy . Boureima has been the ambassador of the Republic of Niger in Germany since March 2, 2016, with his official seat in Berlin .
