Boubacar Diallo (born December 31, 1962 in Ouagadougou , Upper Volta ) is a filmmaker , journalist and writer from Burkina Faso .

Life

Diallo was born in 1962 as the son of a veterinarian . After leaving school, he began studying economics at the école supérieure des sciences économiques in Ouagadougou. At the age of 21 he published his first short stories. After a few semesters, he dropped out of his studies in favor of his passion for writing. Diallo became known beyond national borders as editor-in-chief of the satirical weekly newspaper Journal du Jeudi , which he founded in Ouagadougou in August 1991.

In 2004 he presented his first film, Traque à Ouaga , which was followed by two more at short intervals.
