Boucheron is an international jeweler - and watchmaking - chain store in the luxury segment . Boucheron is known worldwide for high-quality jewelry as well as wristwatches , gemstones and accessories . The company was founded in Paris in 1858, the head office is on Place Vendôme in Paris . Boucheron has around 50 branches and over 100 licensed trading partners. The estimated turnover (2010/11) was around € 50 million. The owner is the company Kering , which belongs to the Artémis Group and which also includes other manufacturers of luxury goods with global brand awareness.

Frédéric Boucheron

Frederic Boucheron opened his jewelry store in 1858 under the arcades of the Galerie de Valois at the Palais Royal in Paris. He quickly gained a reputation as an expert in gemstones and as a gifted, creative craftsman in the manufacture of fine jewelry and watches. In 1867 Boucheron was awarded a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris. The European nobility and wealthy citizens even from America became his customers. In 1893 the company moved to its current address on Place Vendôme.

In 1893 Boucheron opened the first foreign branch in Moscow . In 1903 stores were opened in London and New York . Further foreign branches followed in the next few years and again in the last few decades. The international customer base increased. Since 1988, a series of perfume items has been sold under the name “Boucheron” .

On August 20, 1902, the founder, Frédéric Boucheron, died at the age of 71, and his descendants took over the management. The company remained family-owned until 1994. The current owner, the Artémis Group, acquired the company in 2000.

collaboration

In 1996, a collaboration between Boucheron and Waterman resulted in a series of writing implements limited to 3471 pieces under the name "Edson signe Boucheron". "Edson" was part of the first name of the Waterman company founder, Lewis Edson Waterman . The nib is made of 18K gold and the pen is made of transparent blue plastic.

In 2006 the English fashion designer Alexander McQueen created a limited edition series of handbags under the Boucheron trademark.

For Boucheron's 150th birthday in 2008, a luxurious mobile phone was created in collaboration with the Nokia subsidiary Vertu , the shape of which is reminiscent of a gold bar.

In 2010, Boucheron began working with the Swiss watch manufacturer Girard-Perregaux , which is also part of the Kering Group. Watches with the trademarks of both companies are offered.

At the end of 2010, Boucheron signed an exclusive 15-year license agreement with the French company "Interparfums". Interparfums was granted the right to manufacture and distribute perfumes under the Boucheron brand. Previously, L'Oreal was the exclusive partner.
