Boulikessi , also Boulékéssi is a municipality ( French commune rurale ) in Burkina Faso . It is located in the Aribinda department in the Soum province . This in turn belongs to the Sahel region .

The place briefly gained international fame in 2014 because a flight accident occurred near it, albeit on the Malian side .
