Broecking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bröcking (also Bröckling or Bröking ) is a historical name for a small landscape in the Hanoverian Wendland .

location

The Jeetzel lowlands east, mainly northeast, of Lüchow were referred to as Bröcking . The area includes the villages Weitsche , Rehbeck , Seerau in Lucie , Künsche , Tarmitz , Loge and Saaße .

history

The name, which is first mentioned in writing in 1548 in the register of the Lüchow office , is derived from the word "Brok", a name for a wetland . The villages belonging to the Bröckling administratively formed the Brocklinger Tucht in 1778 . In the 18th century the name Bröcking was forgotten. For the villages north-east of Lüchow, the name "Luciedörfer" became established after the local forest of the same name.
