Brühl's glories
Brühlsche Herrlichkeit was a term used in the 18th century for the buildings and collections erected by Johann Christoph Knöffel on the Brühlsche Terrasse in Dresden from 1739 on behalf of Heinrich von Brühl . These include the Palais Brühl , the Brühl Library , the Brühl Gallery , the Belvedere and the Brühl Garden with the Brühl Garden Pavilion .
Today only parts of the Brühlsche Garten are preserved. Some of the sculptures from Palais Brühl have been transferred to its successor, the Ständehaus . There are two sphinxes and the dolphin fountain from the Belvedere . There are also the two balconies of the gallery and the garden pavilion, the consoles of which are best recognizable from the terrace bank.
