Brahim Lahlafi

Brahim Lahlafi (born April 15, 1968 ) is a French long-distance runner of Moroccan origin.

In 1995 he was fifth at the Cross Country World Championships and in 1998 second at the African Championships in the 3000 meter run .

Shortly before the Olympic Games in 2000 he set his best time over 5000 m with 12: 49.28 min . The greatest triumph of his career followed in Sydney when he won an Olympic bronze medal over this distance behind Million Wolde (ETH) and Ali Saïdi-Sief (ALG).

In 2002 he acquired French citizenship. In 2007 he tried a comeback in road running . Shortly afterwards, however, he did not live up to the expectations that his half marathon time of 1:01:00 h had aroused in the Paris Marathon , which he finished thirteenth in 2:15:09 h.
