The Brandau Rocks are a rock formation in East Antarctica Victoria Land . They rise 800 m west of the Carapace Nunatak .
A team who undertook an exploration trip to the Allan Hills as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program in 1964 made the designation. It is named after Lieutenant Commander James F. Brandau (* 1934) of the United States Navy , helicopter pilot of the VX-6 squadron in 1964 and 1965, who evacuated an injured crew member from this area.
