The company was founded in 1921 as the Thomas C. Brasfield Company by Thomas C. Brasfield. In 1964 Miller Gorrie acquired the company and three years later changed the name to Brasfield & Gorrie. In the 1960s and 1970s, the construction company expanded its business activities to include high-rise buildings and special buildings.
