Denison is a city in Grayson County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

geography

The city is located in the northeast of the county, in northeast Texas, on the border with Oklahoma and has a total area of ​​59.3 km², of which 0.8 km² is water.

history

The place was founded in 1872 as a depot of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad and named after the former US MP and politician George Denison . In 1901 the first interurban tram was established in Texas between Denison and Sherman .
