The Grieskirchen brewery is based in Grieskirchen in Upper Austria and was first mentioned in a document in 1708. In the 19th century it was the easternmost Bavarian wheat beer brewery. Count Friedrich Revertera bought the two breweries on the current company premises in 1868 and created the first industrial company in Grieskirchen. In 1908, 122 innkeepers acquired all of the properties and formed a cooperative. In 1941 the Grieskirchen AG brewery was founded. From 1998 the brewery was 90.5 percent owned by the Harmer Holding, which is led by Gustav Harmer . The remaining 9.5 percent remained in the ownership of 27 local shareholders. In August 2013, Marcus Mautner Markhof took over the brewery from Harmer-Holding and in 2014 also took over the shares of the minority shareholders. Since then, Mautner Markhof has been running the brewery.

Products

The brewery's product range includes 12 standard types of beer: Pils, Märzen, Edelsud, Jörger Weisse yeast cloudy, Jörger Weisse dark, Zwickl naturally cloudy, the light, lemon shandy unfiltered, sour shandy, Easter and Christmas buck and tradition. The flagship of the brewery is definitely the Pils with its hoppy note. The Grieskirchner Brewery was the first brewery to bottle Radler. To this day, it is one of the few breweries that offers Sauren Radler in bottles. Special beers are also brewed for special occasions, for example the “Grieskirchner Jubiläumsbier” for the 400th anniversary of the city of Grieskirchen in 2013. There are also seasonal special beers from the 4710 series. In addition to various types of beer and shandy , the brewery also offers lemonades and soda water .
