Brauereigasthof and Hotel Maierbräu in Altomünster, Marktplatz 2 (2019)
Maierbräu brewhouse in Altomünster (2019)

The Brauereigasthof Maierbräu is an inn with a brewery in the Upper Bavarian market Altomünster .

description

The building is a two-story eaves side building with a pitched roof and plaster structure, erected in 1838; with equipment, marked "1931", and is a listed building. (File number D-1-74-111-2)
The building belongs to the brewery of the same name. The inn stands on the western side of the Altomünster market square and forms the end of the square with its eaves.
The guest rooms are on the upper floor, the guest rooms, the kitchen and the ancillary rooms on the ground floor. The Bräustüberl is to the right of the entrance. It was designed in 1931 by the artist L. Scheidner from Emmering . He put hardwood paneling on the walls, flush with the top of the window. The remaining wall between the paneling and the ceiling was designed by the painter Karl Sonner from Olching as the course of the year of rural life. The tables, benches and chairs are from the 1930s. On the gable side of the building there is an adjoining room that can be separated from the Bräustüberl by a cassette partition, which is designed in the same way as the paneling. The wall painting is continued on the cassette partition.

history

Originally there were three breweries in Altomünster. The monastery brewery received brewing rights from George the Rich in 1496 . The master brewer of the Altomünster monastery , Michael Müller from Altomünster, later bought the brewery, which was known as the "Müller Brewery" well into the 19th century. In 1886 the innkeeper Franz Xaver Maier from Alberzell ( Gerolsbach ) acquired today's “Maierbräu” with a brewery inn and agriculture. Today Jakob and Christoph Maier continue to run the brewery in the fourth and fifth generation, respectively.
