Brayan Lopez (born June 20, 1997 in San Juan de la Maguana ) is an Italian sprinter of Dominican origin who has specialized in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Brayan Lopez gained his first international experience in 2015 when he retired from the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna over 400 meters with 48.78 s in the first round and won the silver medal with the Italian 4 x 400 meter relay, where he himself was only used in advance. The following year he retired from the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in the individual competition with 47.92 s in the lead and was disqualified with the relay in the final. In 2017 he made it to the semi-finals at the U23 European Championships there, where he was eliminated with 47.23 seconds and helped the relay reach the final. In 2019 he took part in the relay at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow , where he finished sixth in 3: 09.48 min. Then he won at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 46.16 s, the bronze medal over 400 meters behind the French Fabrisio Saïdy and Cameron Chalmers from the United Kingdom. In addition, he was disqualified with the relay in the final. In late summer he took part in the mixed relay at the World Championships in Doha , but did not reach the final with 3: 16.52 min .

In 2020 Lopez was the Italian indoor champion in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
