Breakwater Iceland (of English breakwater , breakwaters' ) is a small rocky island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located 500 m off the east coast of Wiencke Island across from Nipple Peak . In the southwest of the island there is an arch of cliff rocks .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey gave the island its descriptive name in 1944 based on the breaking waves observed here .
