Patrick Broome

Patrick Broome (* 1968 in Kulmbach , Germany ) is a German yoga teacher and author .

Life

Patrick Broome is the son of a German mother and an American father. The family settled in California a few months after his birth, but returned to Germany after five years. After another ten years in Nuremberg , the family moved to Cologne , where Broome graduated from high school. Then he began in Frankfurt a psychology degree , he with a degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the RWTH Aachen completed. In 1998 the doctorate to Dr. phil. in the Department of Educational Psychology and Empirical Pedagogy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

In 1999 he trained as a Jivamukti yoga teacher in New York City from Sharon Gannon and David Life. After Broome was assistant professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 2000 to 2001, he opened his first Jivamukti yoga studio in Munich - Schwabing in 2003 together with Gabriela Bozic . Since 2005 he has been a yoga teacher for the German national soccer team , which he also accompanied during the 2014 soccer world championship in Brazil . In 2014 he separated from the business partners of his Schwabing yoga school and gave up the previously practiced Jivamukti concept. In October of the same year he opened a second yoga studio under his name in downtown Munich, followed by a third in Lehel in June 2016 . In the 2015/16 season , he was also in charge of the Bundesliga soccer team FC Augsburg as a yoga teacher.

In 2009 Patrick Broome was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia , which he was able to fight successfully in the two years that followed. He was married to the actress Franziska Schlattner , with whom he has a son (* 2009). Since the divorce from his wife, the yoga teacher Ranja Weiss, with whom he runs his yoga studio and with whom he has a second child (* 2016), has been his partner. Broome lives in Munich and is the author of several books.
