Breaux Greer

Edward Breaux Greer (born October 19, 1976 in Houston , Texas ) is a retired American javelin thrower . In 2007 Greer was third at the World Championships in Osaka .

Greer was eight times American champion in javelin throwing and holds the national record over 91.29 meters, which he set at the 2007 American Athletics Championships in Indianapolis .

Already in 1996 Greer took part in the qualification for the Olympic Games. However, it could not reach the necessary distance. Four years later, Greer started at the Olympic Games in Sydney . Greer was twelfth with 79.91 meters. At the 2001 World Championships , Greer was eighth, and in 2003 seventh. At the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 Breaux Greer was again twelfth with a throw over 74.36 meters.

Greer measures 1.88 meters and weighs 105 kg. He was trained by the Finn Kari Ihalainen .
