The Breckle Group is a German mattress and bed manufacturer and a medium-sized family company.

history

The company was founded in 1932 by Emil Breckle in Benningen am Neckar as an upholstery company. In the 1960s, the company specialized in the manufacture of mattresses . Also bed frames are produced. In 1975 the company expanded to Northeim in southern Lower Saxony and, after the reunification of Germany, to Weida - Hohenölsen in Thuringia and supplied mail order companies and department store chains.

In 1999, sales of around DM 200 million were achieved with a daily production volume of around 7,500 mattresses. In 2002 Breckle had a market share of 15% in mattresses in Germany and, according to its own information, in 2010 of over 20%. Breckle supplies Otto-Versand as well as the Danish bed warehouse , scooter and furniture boss .

In 2012, Breckle entered into a strategic partnership with the US provider Blue Ocean Sleep (San Diego, California).

Products

With around 900 employees in Germany, the group of companies produces more than 10,000 mattresses every day. The range also includes slatted frames, box spring beds and bedding .

  • Emil Breckle GmbH mattress factory , based in Bietigheim-Bissingen since 1996 . Edgar Breckle is the managing director.
  • Breckle GmbH Matratzenfabrik (sales 2013: 58.2 million euros) and the subsidiary Breckle Polster Betten GmbH (sales 2013: 11.8 million) and a total of 350 employees based in Northeim , founded in 1975 by Siegfried Breckle (until his death in 2014 also managing directors), current managing directors are Andreas Breckle and Michael Breckle.
  • Breckle Matratzenwerk Weida GmbH based in Weida - Hohenölsen . Sales in 2013 around EUR 46 million. The managing director is Gerd Breckle.
  • Breckle Emil GmbH based in Seelbach .
  • Breckle GmbH Benninger bed systems based in Benningen am Neckar. The managing directors are Karin Breckle-Wagner and Hendrik Breckle.
  • Breckle Verwaltungs GmbH based in Benningen am Neckar. The managing directors are Kornelia Kreye and Gaby Breckle-Kosma.
  • Breckle-Kosma Gastronomie GmbH & Co. KG and Breckle-Kosma Gastronomie Verwaltungs GmbH based in Benningen am Neckar. The managing directors are Matthias Kosma and Gaby Breckle-Kosma.
