The Bregaglia Quartet is a German ensemble funded by the German Music Council .

history

The Bregaglia Quartet was founded in 2004 on the occasion of the Bergell Music Days ( Italian Incontro musicale Bregaglia ) in Vicosoprano , Switzerland under the artistic direction of Professor Christian Sikorskis from the Stuttgart University of Music .

In 2005 the quartet won the national competition “ Jugend musiziert ” in Fürth with the support of the Baden-Württemberg State Music Council . It received the first federal award , the Bärenreiter award and the sponsorship award from the Sparkassen of Baden and Württemberg and the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation. In 2005 Wolfram Hauser joined the quartet as a violist in the successor to Simona Matescu.

After a concert in Hamburg they got the scholarship program of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben . This was followed by quartet studies with the Artemis , Sikorski and Melos quartet .

In November 2005, the Bregaglia Quartet went on a tour through China organized by the Institute for Chinese Culture and Youth Exchange of the State Music Council of Baden-Württemberg, with performances a. a. in Shanghai and Nanchang .

They gave their first live broadcast in January 2006 on Bayerischer Rundfunk Klassik in Mensch Mozart, mein Mozart .
