The house at Breite Straße 47 is a listed building in the town of Wernigerode in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt . It is a residential building that is located as a corner house directly at the confluence of the Ringstrasse and the Breite Strasse.

Architecture and history

The building is located in the historic old town of Wernigerode on the north side of Breite Straße , one of the city's main shopping streets. It is relatively narrow and has three floors. The roof was also removed. There is a dormer window with two windows facing Breite Straße.

The main building on the street side was built with functional, simple half-timbering. There are two ornate wooden pillars on either side of the earlier entrance door, which is symmetrically located in the middle of the building and has a shop window.

A shop has been installed on the lower floor of the Breite Strasse 47 building, to which four steps lead. There is u. a. a lottery acceptance point with newspaper and tobacco sales and a branch of the Deutsche Post AG. There is also the option of foot care and cosmetics.

The building used to have the town list number 174 and before 1895 the name Breite Straße 206 . It was originally a residential building with a small courtyard and a stable at the back.

The house is listed as a monument in the monument register of the city of Wernigerode under registration number 094 25160.
