The Austrian Football Association's Cup was played for the 71st time in the 2004/05 season. The Salzburg brewery Stiegl appeared for the second time as sponsor of the competition, which is why the official name of the competition was "ÖFB-Stiegl-Cup".
Cup winner was in front of 28,000 spectators in Vienna in Ernst Happel Stadium of FK Austria Vienna with a 3-1 victory over SK Rapid Wien . Ivica Vastić (FK Austria Wien) was the top scorer with four goals.
