Lucas Conrad pledge tent ( Russian Лукас Конрад Пфанцельт * 9. April 1716 in Ulm , † May 11. . Jul / 22. May 1786 greg. In St. Petersburg ) was a German painter , copyist , restorer , collector and dealer.
Life
Pfandzelt, son of the portraitist Georg Friedrich Pfandzelt, learned painting from his father and then went on a tour of Germany. In 1741 he emigrated with Georg Christoph Grooth to Reval at the invitation of General Ulrich von Löwendal, who was in Russian service . In 1743 he came to St. Petersburg with Grooth and, as Grooth's apprentice, was a restorer of the imperial painting collections. After Grooth's death, he became the first professional oil painting restorer in Russia. One of his most famous paintings is the coronation portrait of Tsar Peter III. From 1764–1775 he was the curator of the Imperial Hermitage Picture Gallery and its restorer.
Pfandzelt married Anna Svenska in 1782, daughter of a Livonian provost .
