Andreas Dober (born March 31, 1986 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player on the position of defender.
Career
At the beginning of his career, Andreas Dober played for the second-class SCR Altach and for the SK Rapid Wien amateur team . From there he made the leap to the Rapid team in 2004. The defender celebrated his greatest successes to date at Rapid with winning the Austrian championship twice in the 2004/05 & 2007/08 season and making it to the main round of the UEFA Champions League 2005/06. In the Champions League qualification in the second leg against Lokomotiv Moscow , he delivered one of the best games and thus played a major role in Rapid's rise to the European premier class.
In 2007 he trained for a week at the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue , but decided to stay with Rapid. In 2008 he won the Austrian championship title with the Hütteldorfer .
Andreas Dober made his international debut in the Austrian national team against England on October 8, 2005. He was part of the extended Austrian squad for the 2008 European Championship in his own country, but was struck by Josef Hickersberger just before the European Championship.
His expiring contract was not extended by the club after the 2010/11 season. It wasn't until autumn 2011 that he found a new club in TSV Hartberg . Dober signed a contract on October 10, 2011 until summer 2012. Andreas Dober played his first game for TSV Hartberg on October 14, 2011 in the second highest level against LASK Linz . The game ended in a 2-0 home defeat for Hartberg.
After he last played at First Vienna FC in the First League , the second highest Austrian division, he was without a contract from July 2013. On September 19, 2013 Dober was signed by the SKN St. Pölten .
In the summer of 2014 Andreas Dober moved to Ethnikos Achnas in Cyprus , but after only six months Andreas Dober moved back to the SKN St. Pölten in January 2015 . In 2016 he was promoted to the Bundesliga with SKN St. Pölten .
In January 2017 he returned to Rapid Vienna, where he joined the amateur team, where he received a contract valid until June 2018.
In May 2017, he finally played for the Rapid professionals again for the first time when he was in the starting line-up against SKN St. Pölten on matchday 36 of the 2016/17 season.
For the 2018/19 season he moved to the second division WSG Wattens . After Wattens' promotion to the Bundesliga, he ended his professional career after the 2018/19 season and moved to the fourth-class ASV Siegendorf .
