Brendon Leonard (born April 16, 1985 in Morrinsville ) is a New Zealand rugby union player. Playing in the scrum half position , he made his provincial rugby debut for Waikato in the 2005 National Provincial Championship season. He was in the Chiefs' extended training group for the 2006 Super 14 season.

After playing for Waikato in their 2006 Air New Zealand Cup title season , Leonard was nominated for the Chiefs in 2007. Leonard had a successful Super 14 season playing in place of Byron Kelleher , who skipped the first seven rounds of the competition as he participated in the All Blacks' conditioning program. After the 2007 season Leonard was appointed to the All Blacks squad for the June internationals and for the Tri Nations 2007 .

He was one of only two players called into the squad who had not yet played an international match. All Blacks coach Graham Henry said of the appeal: "Brendon Leonard was the best attacking scrum half in the Super 14 this season and his form forced his entry into the All Blacks."

Leonard made his international debut on June 2, 2007 at Eden Park against France . He came on as a substitute for Piri Weepu in the 64th minute of the 42:11 victory of the All Blacks.
