Brian Gill, Lord Gill

Brian Gill, Lord Gill (born February 25, 1942 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a Scottish lawyer . From 2012 to 2015 he served as Lord President and Lord Justice General, the highest Scottish judge .

Career

He received his law education from the University of Glasgow . He received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 1975 . His inclusion in the Faculty of Advocates was made in 1967, was appointed Advocate Depute 1977. Attorney-General , he is the since 1981. He was chairman of Scottish Law Commission to reform the Scottish Justice from 1996 to 2001. In 2001 he was appointed Lord Justice Clerk appointed and assumed the title of Lord Gill. His appointment as Lord President and Lord Justice General and thus the highest Scottish judge took place on June 8, 2012. He resigned on May 31, 2015.

He is married to Catherine Fox.
