The Brighton Center is an event and convention center in Brighton , England .
It is the largest of its kind in southern England and has a capacity of 5,000 people for conferences and 4,500 people for concerts. It is also used for weddings and banquets . It was opened by James Callaghan on September 19, 1977 and previously designed by architects Russell Diplock & Associates.
