The Brightsand River is a river in the Thunder Bay District in the western Canadian province of Ontario .
The river has its origin 50 km north of Upsala in Pakashkan Lake . From there it flows in a predominantly northerly direction through numerous lakes - Metionga Lake , Brightsand Lake , Harmon Lake , Wapikaimaski Lake , Antler Lake , McEwan Lake - before flowing into Allan Water at Allanwater Bridge . Much of the river's course is within the Brightsand River Provincial Park . The Brightsand River is approximately 150 km in length.
