Brigitte Asdonk
Brigitte Asdonk (born October 25, 1947 in Kamp-Lintfort ) is a founding member of the terrorist organization Red Army Faction (RAF). Asdonk was involved in the liberation of Baader in Berlin in 1970 and in several bank robberies . She was sentenced to twelve years' imprisonment in 1973 and released from prison in 1982.
Life
Brigitte Asdonk grew up in a Catholic farming family on the Lower Rhine . In 1967 she graduated from high school and began studying sociology at the Free University of Berlin . From 1968 to 1970 she took part in disputes in the extra-parliamentary opposition ( APO ), in the Socialist German Student Union , in actions and demonstrations against the Vietnam War and against the emergency laws . At the same time, Asdonk was involved in the works council of the Bosch company and built up a company group and a group of apprentices.
Brigitte Asdonk has been part of Horst Mahler's environment since 1968 . In June 1970 she took part in the freeing of Andreas Baader from prison - she procured firearms in advance and drove the getaway car - and thus became a founding member of the RAF. From June to August she took part in a military training course at an Al Fatah camp in Jordan with Horst Mahler, Andreas Baader , Gudrun Ensslin , Ulrike Meinhof , Peter Homann and about twelve others . By October 1970 she was involved in several bank robberies. With forged papers she rented various conspiratorial apartments.
On October 8, 1970, she was arrested together with Horst Mahler, Ingrid Schubert , Monika Berberich and Irene Goergens in an apartment at 89 Knesebeckstraße in Berlin. Asdonk was sentenced to twelve years imprisonment for bank robbery among other things . She was released on May 7, 1982 and has been active in the autonomous scene in Berlin ever since .
