Brigitte Langenhagen

Brigitte Langenhagen (born December 8, 1939 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Education and professional career

Langenhagen trained in the field of foreign languages ​​and then worked as a commercial clerk or as a consultant for a medium-sized company.

Political career

In 1971 she joined the CDU. At the CDU, she was a co-opted member of the city and district association of Cuxhaven and of the district association of Stade. In 1990 she was given a seat in the European Parliament , to which she was a member until 2004. There she was coordinator of the Group of the European People's Party on the Fisheries Committee and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Fisheries.

Other offices and memberships

She was chair of the Maritime Forum .

Langenhagen is board member of the Allianz Maritime Regional Interests in Europe (AMRIE) in Brussels, of which she was a founding member. It is a member of the Kangaroo Group , a think tank and lobby organization based in Brussels.
