Brigitte Martin (born June 8, 1939 in Königs Wusterhausen ) is a German writer .

Life

Brigitte Martin became known in the GDR in 1977 through her collection of stories, The Red Ballon . She worked as a feature writer for radio , where her main topic, single mothers, was autobiographical, which is what makes her programs so attractive.

Because of her relationship with Robert Havemann , which resulted in two children, the writer was monitored and targeted by the Ministry for State Security .
