Brigitte Moser-Weithmann

Brigitte Moser-Weithmann (born Brigitte Moser ; * 1946 in Munich ) is a German orientalist and consultant.

Life

Moser-Weithmann initially completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in Munich . She then studied Oriental Studies at the Universities of Munich and Istanbul and in 1980 she was called Bihišti at the Faculty of Classical Studies and Cultural Studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with her dissertation The Chronicle of Ahmed Sinân Čelebi. A source on the history of the Ottoman Empire under Sultan Bâyezid II for Dr. phil. PhD .

From 1987 to 2003 she held a teaching position for Turkish at the University of Passau ; she held seminars at the Center for Key Qualifications there. Since 2006 she has been teaching Turkish (and Arabic ) at the Language Center of the University of Munich. She is also a lecturer for the "History and Culture of the Arab Countries" at Munich Business School .

About the company Orient Competence in Passau it offers since 2003 advice on intercultural communication at the Arab and Turkish culture and Iran. She is a board member of the German-Turkish Society of Bavaria .

She is married to the librarian Michael W. Weithmann .
