biography

Brisa Roché grew up in California. With her mother, an artist with a penchant for folk music , she lived secluded in a house in the mountains in northern California. At that time she was already singing in a children's choir. At the age of sixteen, Brisa left her mother and moved to her father in Seattle , who lived an excessive city life there and soon died at the age of 48. Back with her mother, a saxophonist initiates her into the world of jazz , and she begins to sing jazz standards . This is followed by their first own band "The Amazing Dimestore". When she was eighteen she traveled to Paris for the first time and stayed there for a full year. She then returned to the United States, enrolled in college and tried out many styles of music on the side. After the sudden end of a love affair, she travels to Paris again and sings her songs in the jazz clubs of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Music agents quickly noticed her and her first album The Chase , released by the renowned record label Blue Note Records , was a great success. After the first successes, she returns to her native California and writes most of her second album Takes here . Brisa Roché describes her new work as a mixture of drug-infected New York sound, West Coast psych-pop with a folk influence and a good portion of San Francisco feeling.
