Brisbane bandits

The Brisbane Bandits are a professional baseball team based out of Brisbane . The club was founded in 2009 and is one of the six founding teams of the Australian Baseball League in its current form. In the course of the privatization of the league on June 3, 2018, entrepreneur Mark Ready became the new main owner of the franchise .

history

Predecessor team (1989–1998)

From 1989 to 1998 a baseball team called the Brisbane Bandits existed. It was one of the eight founding teams of the original ABL , which was disbanded in 1999. In 1994 the Bandits won the Claxton Shield , the Australian Baseball League winner's trophy.

Founding years (2010-2014)

Today's Brisbane Bandits were founded in 2010. Your first manager was David Wayne Nilsson, who had been active as a catcher with the Milwaukee Brewers in Major League Baseball from 1992 to 1999 . In October 2011, Kevin Jordan took over the role of manager.

Successful series (2015-today)

In the 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 ABL seasons , the Bandits won the Australian championship title four times in a row, becoming the first team in the newly formed Australian Baseball League to do so. On June 3, 2018, the Brisbane Bandits got a new main owner with the entrepreneur Mark Ready. With their fourth consecutive championship victory in the 2018/19 ABL season against Perth Heat , the Bandits are the second team after Perth in the modern Australian Baseball League to win a total of four championship titles.
