The 2018/19 ABL season was the ninth season of the Australian Baseball League (ABL) and the first season since the league was re-established, which is played with eight teams. The season opened on November 15, 2018 and ended on February 2, 2019 with the Brisbane Bandits' fourth consecutive championship title .
Game mode
Along with the addition of two new teams to the Australian Baseball League, the game mode in the play-offs was also changed by introducing a wildcard game for the first time . The regular season consists of a total of 160 games in ten weeks. Each team plays a total of 40 games in the regular season, including 4 home and 4 away games against the other three teams in their own division (24 games in total) and four games against the four teams in the other division (16 games in total). The ABL All-Star-Game is canceled due to the preparations of the players for the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo .
Teams
In the 2018/19 ABL season, the Australian Baseball League consisted of eight teams in two divisions: the Southwest Division with Adelaide, Geelong, Melbourne and Perth and the Northeast Division with Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Auckland.

The 2018/19 ABL season was partially broadcast by Fox Sports Australia . The station showed 40 games of the season in Australia. In Taiwan at least 40 games were broadcast on Eleven Sports Taiwan , in South Korea on MBC Sports Korea and in New Zealand on Sky Sport New Zealand . In addition, games on their own are YouTube channel of the Australian Baseball League ABL.tv available.
