Henri Routhier OMI (born February 20, 1900 in Pincher Creek , Alberta , Canada , † September 19, 1989 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan .

Life

Henri Routhier joined the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in and received on 7 September 1924, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 15, 1945, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to titular bishop of Naissus and coadjutor vicar of Grouard. The Archbishop of Québec , Cardinal Jean-Marie-Rodrigue Villeneuve OMI, ordained him episcopal on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Vicar Apostolic von Grouard, Ubald Langlois OMI, and the Archbishop of Vancouver , William Mark Duke .

Routhier was on September 18, 1953, succeeding the late Ubald Langlois OMI Vicar Apostolic of Grouard. Henri Routhier attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On July 13, 1967 he became the first Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan as a result of the elevation of the Vicariate Apostolic Grouard to the Archdiocese.

Pope Paul VI accepted Henri Routhier's resignation on November 21, 1972.
