The Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan ( Latin Archidioecesis Gruardensis-McLennanpolitana , English Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan ) is a Roman Catholic Archdiocese in McLennan in Alberta in Canada .

history

The diocese was first founded on April 8, 1862 as the Apostolic Vicariate Athabaska Mackenzie from the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface . On July 3, 1901, the name was changed to the Apostolic Vicariate Athabaska, on March 15, 1927 as the Apostolic Vicariate Grouard.

On July 13, 1967, the independent Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan was founded.
