Joseph-Wilfrid Guy

Joseph-Wilfrid Guy OMI (born July 28, 1883 in Montreal , Canada , † December 8, 1951 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Gravelbourg .

Life

Joseph-Wilfrid Guy joined the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in and received on 9 June 1906, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 19, 1929, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the titular bishop of Photice and Vicar Apostolic of Grouard. The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Archbishop Andrea Cassulo , donated him episcopal ordination on May 1, 1930 ; Co- consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Keewatin , Ovid Charlebois OMI, and the Bishop of Haileybury , Louis Rhéaume OMI.

Pius XI. appointed him on June 2, 1937 Bishop of Gravelbourg. The inauguration took place on October 25 of the same year. On November 7, 1942, Pope Pius XII. the resignation put forward by Joseph-Wilfrid Guy and appointed him titular bishop of Photice .
