Louis-Joseph-Arthur Melanson
Louis-Joseph-Arthur Melanson (born March 25, 1879 in Trois-Rivières , Québec , Canada , † October 23, 1941 in Campbellton , New Brunswick ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Moncton .
Life
Louis-Joseph-Arthur Melanson received on 9 July 1905 by the Bishop of Chatham , Thomas Francis Barry , the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On November 25, 1932, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Gravelbourg . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Archbishop Andrea Cassulo , donated him episcopal ordination on February 22, 1933 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Regina , James Charles McGuigan OMI, and the Bishop of Chatham, Patrice Alexandre Chiasson CIM .
Pius XI. appointed him on December 16, 1936 first Archbishop of Moncton.
