The Archdiocese of Keewatin-Le Pas ( Latin Archidioecesis Kivotina-Passitana , English Archdiocese of Keewatin-Le Pas , also Archdiocese of Keewatin-The Pas , French Archidiocèse de Keewatin-Le Pas ) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese based in The Pas (Canada ).
history
The archbishopric was established on March 4, 1910 by Pope Pius X from cession of territory of the diocese Prince-Albert as Apostolic Vicariate Keewatin . The Apostolic Vicariate Keewatin gave on July 15, 1925 parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Hudson Bay . On July 13, 1967, the Vicariate Apostolic Keewatin was by Pope Paul VI. raised to the archbishopric and renamed the archbishopric Keewatin-Le Pas .
