Paul Dumouchel

Paul Dumouchel OMI (born September 19, 1911 in Saint-Boniface , Manitoba , Canada ; † April 15, 2000 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas .

Life

Paul Dumouchel joined the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in and received on 24 June 1936, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 25, 1955, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Sufes and Vicar Apostolic of Keewatin. The coadjutor archbishop of Saint-Boniface , Maurice Baudoux , ordained him episcopal on May 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Winnipeg , Philip Francis Pocock , and the Bishop of Prince-Albert , Léo Blais .

Paul Dumouchel attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On July 13, 1967 he became the first Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas as a result of the elevation of the Vicariate Apostolic Keewatin to the Archdiocese.

On November 7, 1986, Pope John Paul II accepted Paul Dumouchel's resignation due to reasons of age.
