Léo Blais

Léo Blais (born April 28, 1904 in Dollar Bay , Michigan , USA ; † January 21, 1991 ) was an American-Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Montréal .

Life

Léo Blais received on 14 June 1930, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 4, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Prince Albert . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada , Archbishop Ildebrando Antoniutti , donated him episcopal ordination on August 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Regina , Michael Cornelius O'Neill , and the Coadjutor Archbishop of Saint-Boniface , Maurice Baudoux .

Léo Blais resigned as Bishop of Prince Albert on February 28, 1959. Pope John XXIII appointed him on the same day titular bishop of Hieron and auxiliary bishop in Montréal. Blais attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On May 11, 1971, Pope Paul VI took the resignation put forward by Léo Blais.
