The Diocese of Prince Albert ( lat. : Dioecesis Principis albertensis ) is in Canada situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Prince Albert .
history
The Diocese of Prince Albert was on June 4, 1891 by Pope Leo XIII. established from the cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface as the Apostolic Vicariate of Saskatchewan . The Apostolic Vicariate of Saskatchewan was raised to a diocese on December 2, 1907 by Pope Pius X and renamed the Diocese of Prince Albert . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Regina as a suffragan . The Diocese of Prince-Albert was renamed on April 30, 1921 in the Diocese of Prince-Albert-Saskatoon . The Diocese of Prince-Albert-Saskatoon gave on May 6, 1921 parts of its territory to establish the Territorial Abbey of Saint Peter-Muenster . On June 9, 1933, the Diocese of Prince Albert Saskatoon by Pope Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesiarum omnium divided into the dioceses of Prince-Albert and Saskatoon .
