Peter Alfred Sutton

Peter Alfred Sutton OMI (born October 18, 1934 in Chandler ; † September 5, 2015 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas .

Life

Peter Alfred Sutton joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) and was ordained a priest on October 22, 1960 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on May 9, 1974 Bishop of Labrador-Schefferville . He was ordained episcopal on July 18 of that year by the Bishop of London , Gerald Emmett Carter ; Co- consecrators were Patrick James Skinner CIM , Archbishop of Saint John's, Newfoundland , and Jules Leguerrier OMI, Bishop of Moosonee .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas on January 24, 1986 . After Paul Dumouchel's OMI retired on November 7, 1986, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas.

His resignation for health reasons gave Pope Benedict XVI. on March 25, 2006.
