Sylvain Lavoie

Sylvain Lavoie OMI (born April 22, 1947 in Delmas , Canada ) is retired Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas .

Life

Sylvain Lavoie joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) , made profession on February 17, 1974 and was ordained a priest on October 19, 1974 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 11, 2005 coadjutor archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas, Peter Alfred Sutton OMI, on August 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Gerald William Wiesner OMI, Bishop of Prince George , and Blaise-Ernest Morand OMI, Bishop of Prince-Albert .

After Peter Alfred Sutton's OMI retired , he succeeded him on March 25, 2006 as Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas. On July 16, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation.
