The Archdiocese of Sherbrooke ( Latin Archidioecesis Sherbrookensis , French archidiocèse de Sherbrooke ) is in Canada situated Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Sherbrooke .
history
The Archdiocese of Sherbrooke was on August 28, 1874 by Pope Pius IX. from the cession of the dioceses of Saint-Hyacinthe and Trois Rivières and the Archdiocese of Québec as the diocese of Sherbrooke . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Montréal as a suffragan . On March 2, 1951, the Diocese of Sherbrooke was by Pope Pius XII. raised to the archbishopric.
