The Whitehorse Diocese ( Latin : Dioecesis Equialbensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory in Canada .

The diocese was first founded on March 9, 1908 as the Apostolic Prefecture of Yukon-Prince Rupert . On November 20, 1916, the elevation to the Apostolic Vicariate Yukon-Prince Rupert took place , which was renamed on January 14, 1944 in Apostolic Vicariate Whitehorse.

On July 13, 1967, the independent diocese of Whitehorse was founded and assigned to the Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan as a suffragan .
