James Philip Mulvihill OMI (born October 15, 1905 in Chelsea , Québec , Canada , † July 21, 1975 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Whitehorse .

Life

James Philip Mulvihill joined the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in and received on 24 June 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 18, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Caput Cilla and Vicar Apostolic of Whitehorse. The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , donated him episcopal ordination on January 25, 1966 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Vancouver , Martin Michael Johnson , and the Archbishop of Edmonton , Anthony Jordan OMI.

James Philip Mulvihill became the first bishop of Whitehorse on July 13, 1967 as a result of the elevation of the Vicariate Apostolic Whitehorse to the diocese . Mulvihill resigned as Bishop of Whitehorse on October 15, 1971.
